Infirmier ou infirmière qui assiste l’infirmier-chef ou l’infirmière-chef ou le supérieur immédiat dans ses fonctions. Elle planifie, supervise et coordonne les activités d’un service pour toute la durée de son service. Elle agit comme personne-ressource auprès de l’équipe de soins pour la planification, la distribution et l’évaluation des soins infirmiers.
