Job description:

As a controller and in collaboration with the finance team, you will be responsible for producing the financial statements of some of our entities and improving accounting operations.

Responsibility:

  • Ensure the production of monthly and annual financial statements in cooperation with the finance director;
  • Lead, supervise, support and develop the financial resources of his team both on a technical and human level;
  • Perfect working methods for all accounting cycles and anticipate needs in a context of growth;
  • Ensure month-end production
  • Analyze and propose optimizations balance sheet and income statements of the entities under your management;
  • Record inter-company transactions;
  • Validate and monitor the cash flow of certain companies;
  • Review supplier payments, source deductions and GST/QST and authorize payment in certain companies;
  • Supervise payroll monitoring processes, payroll declaration and year-end processes;
  • Provide information and reports to senior management to enable them to make good decisions;
  • Any other related tasks.

Portrait of the candidate sought:

  • Diploma in accounting – DEC, AEC or certificate;
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting;
  • 1-3 years of experience in a leadership role;
  • Good understanding of the processes and validation rules surrounding payroll;
  • Mastery of the realities of the construction industry as a subcontractor (cash flow, margin, forecasting, inter-company and project management);
  • Excellent skills in managing multiple files at once and tight deadlines;
  • Demonstrate rigor and attention to detail;
  • Have a good team spirit and excellent communication skills;
  • Versatility, autonomy, organization, resourcefulness, sense of priorities;
  • Excel proficiency;
  • Knowledge of CMEQ software (an asset);
