Cutting Tools Planner

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate all cutting tool requirements based on incoming orders and replacement part needs.
  • Review sales orders and internal requests to determine required tools, metals, and components.
  • Order raw materials (metals, consumables, components) needed for tool manufacturing.
  • Prepare and release work orders to the manufacturing department for tool production.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure availability of cutting tools and materials.
  • Track tool production progress and communicate any delays or issues to the VP Cutting Tools;
  • Keep documentation, purchase orders, tool specifications, and production records organized and up to date.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on tool design changes or updates.

Qualifications

  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, operations, industrial mechanics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience in production planning, tooling coordination, or purchasing is an asset.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Skills

  • Bilingual (French and English), with strong fluency in English.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to analyze data, assess material requirements, and support decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
