Bilingual Manager, Reconciliation

This role sits within LBC Tech, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank.

The Manager is responsible for the day to day management and oversight of financial reconciliation teams. The Manager leads his/her team to deliver optimal results based on the committed service standards and ensures that key controls and audit requirements are fulfilled, and compliant with all applicable regulations.

Responsibilities :
  • This role is considered an essential role that may require you to be onsite and work from home.
  • Manages the daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliation of suspense and internal accounts related to multiple products and systems
  • Ensures that any irregularities and discrepancies are investigated and reported within the defined SLA and established key controls.
  • Effectively manages various day to day tasks of the department such as management of department mailboxes, workflow queues, and escalation handling.
  • Ensures that all processes and controls are adhered to by the reconciliation teams
  • Reviews and approves daily reconciliation, end of day reporting, and journal entries within his/her limits
  • Ensures that all required reporting is completed and delivered in a timely manner to various stakeholders.
  • Administers the quarterly financial certification process.
  • Conducts regular one on ones and team meetings with their direct reports and institutes best work from home practices while ensuring key deliverables are met as per SLA and established key controls.
  • Provides support on internal and external audits.
  • Manages the maintenance of accurate accounting and financial information.
  • Maintains and adheres to effective accounting and reconciliation controls at an individual, team, corporate logistics and LBCFG.

Qualifications :
  • Post secondary education in Business Administration or Accounting, or in a related field.
  • Bilingual (English/French) verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
  • Enrolled in a professional accounting designation program is a strong asset.
  • 5-7 years of work experience in a financial services industry, with at least 2-3 years of managerial experience.
  • Experience in GL reconciliation and regulatory reporting.
  • Must possess intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Solid knowledge of banking, digital banking, deposits, VISA, Mortgage, Loans, Securities, and other lending or investment products.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, ability to analyse situations, diagnose problems, and develop proactive solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrate leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to concisely and clearly summarize results and effectively communicate to the team.
  • Familiarity with using large and complex financial database systems; ability to learn inquiry functions in back office processing systems such as SIBL, AS400, T24 and CPS are assets.
  • Experience with MS Access an asset.
